Mixed Experience The Good: The stores in my area (Fairlawn, Medina) have a decent amount of stock and the staff doesn't seem to mind browsers. The staff is generally friendly. The Not So Good: I'm not a professional; I'm a hobbyist, and therefore I rely on the advice of professionals. The staff at the stores all claim to be working photographers. VERY Unprofessional On October 28th, 2010 I stopped in at the Medina, Ohio store at approx. 6:30 p.m. to purchase a Canon 70-200mm F4 L lens that had been placed on reserve for me approx. 3 weeks prior. At that time, the saleswoman had assured me that if the lens was sold before then, I would be notified via phone and another unit would be ordered. Lots of cameras My friend is a budding photographer and I went with him to purchase a new digital camera. He said he was very impressed with the selection of the cameras as well as the knowledge all the staff members possessed. He also took in an old camera to get repaired and they did a great job. It was his favorite camera to use for nature shots and he is very happy that he is able to use it again.
Very Disappointed - Dodd has lost at least 4 customers for life Very Disappointed I was extremely disappointed in the service that I received when I had Fairview Park Dodd Camera develop 10 rolls of wedding film and found the most of them had problems. I was told upon picking up the cdâs that there were 5 rolls of film that were wound backwards (I donât understand this) but that they were able to figure out there was a problem and corrected it but that 1 roll had some cloudiness. They Did A Great Job On My Camera The staff at Dodd Camera are some of the most helpful people I have ever come across. I had recently had a problem with my digital camera and took it to Dodd to see if they could help me. Before I took the camera in, I was afraid that it wouldnt be able to be fixed. I put my camera in the hands of the Dodd crew, came back a day later and my camera was a good as new. I will definitely be going back.
Glad to never return. I'm a graduating college student and I'll be glad when I never have to shop at Dodd again. I've been shopping at Dodd on E. 30th Street for four years for various services, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and trying to be optimistic.... I'm always disappointed. not satisfied with product I had a scan done and the pictures came out dark. I asked if they could do them better and they said yes. I said I don't want to be charged and they said no.
