Check out the photos and memorabilia on our walls which tell the story of our building and home. It makes for some entertaining reading while you're having a meal or waiting for a table. If you're lucky enough to run into Bill when you're in make sure you ask about the history of Doc's. He can give you the full story on our former life as a pink hotel. Our current operation, Doc Taylor's, was spawned after sister restaurant, Tautogs, had established itself as one of the best seafood restaurants on the Virginia Beach oceanfro... read more

The place was packed and the service was still on point. Food was great. Nola omelette was terrific.
Will plan to return to Doc Taylors every time we go to Tidewater. Couldn't have been better.
Of course it's the $2.50 mimosas that makes it worth standing in line! Honestly, they have the best grits (with and without cheese) on the beach. I always get the Dr. Kathryn's with a side of sourdough toast. My husband enjoys french toast, biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs, etc. Prices are inexpensive and food is delicious. Great way to start the day! And the two houses remind me of my family vacations at VA Beach in the sixties!
I have never been let down at docs. Not even once. I introduced my mom (who is from WV) docs on Mother's Day. Needless to say she fell in love and couldn't stop talking about it. Our server was incredibly sweet, he was kind to my daughter and playful with her (she's 1). Thank you to our kind server and all the docs staff. We truly love you ❤️
Visiting from New Jersey for my brothers engagement party. Googled "best breakfast in Virginia Beach." We found it!!! So good! Great to dtill have these hole in the wall places still around. Will be back!
It's the best place for a homey, just want to relax food joint. Whether its their healthy breakfast or fried softshell crab it taste great. You can tell they put great pride into every plate and customer service
By far one of my favorite places for breakfast/brunch! Well worth the wait time!
Great authentic home-cooked breakfast. They move a lot of people through but even so you might have to wait 45 minutes to an hour. Worth it. If it's just one or two people, keep an eye out for openings at the bar. They are up for grabs when somebody leaves. A Virginia Beach tradition in the best sense. If you come to visit in Virginia Beach, don't leave without trying Doc Taylor's.
The service was good and everyone was very helpful n polite. The food was ok. I got the shrimp n grits with a side of pancakes. My friend got a cheese omelette with cheese grits. The bbq sauce was weird on the shrimp n grits. The grits were bad. I just had some of the best grits from piggly wiggly so i expected better. They were really runny. My pancakes could gone a few more secs on the fire but it was cool. The bacon wrapped shrimp was great. I didnt like the ends being still on, it made it messy to eat but still really go... read more
