I have been to the Lighthouse on many occasions and twice on the ATU. For the most part, I have had a good experience. However, I have had times in the walk in center that the workers were pretty dismissive of my issues. Including one time when I opened up about being abused, the worker put the blame on me. Took 2 hours for them to say they wont help because my family member has a portable O2 machine...
A family member was in this place and he was treated fairly. It is a secured facility and staff were friendly and easy to approach.
Came in during a time of heavy mental distress. Made it clear I was looking for inpatient and had a conversation with a guy (I think his name was brandon) for an hour, only to be told there are no beds and was told that I should learn to deal with my problems instead of running away from them. I was then offered outpatient services and when I refused the guy basically wouldnt let me leave so I basically had to just walk out. He then spoke poorly about me to my father. This is for the ATU unit specifically. I don’t even know where to start. So many good things to say! Please stay and read the whole thing. Especially if you’re considering going here. It was so good! I was just here, for a week and the experience was basically like a 5 star hotel! Besides the beds which they can’t change but that’s not their fault.
