Hire District Doulas! I cannot recommend them enough. Carolyn attended both of my births (in 2023 and 2025). What I remember the most is her calming, grounding presence throughout the births. District Doulas offers an amazing service! They are very knowledgeable and understanding. There was no question too big or small, they were there to explain and reassure us. I would highly recommend District Doula's to anyone giving birth in the DMV, especially first time parents. The whole complement of classes, birthing hours, prenatal appointments, support during delivery, and post-partum checkup made us feel informed, confident, and able to advocate for ourselves throughout the process.
