Lunch special was delicious.
District Café and Bakery on 109 Street is my downtown reset between meetings. I grabbed a coffee and something from the pastry case, sat in that bright room, and remembered why from-scratch baking still matters on a workday. The sandwiches are the kind you actually want for lunch, and the staff keep the line moving without making you feel rushed. This is the café I send people to when they say they only have twenty minutes.
This place had probably the best scone I have ever had. Bagels were made in house and the coffee was good too.
One of my favourite cafes in the city! The staff is always so lovely, and super efficient even when it gets crazy busy! The food never disappoints! District is my go-to downtown for a quick coffee and a treat, or a casual lunch. I have been coming here regularly since I moved downtown a few years back, and I will keep coming.
