I remember looking into breast reconstruction during chemo because what else do you do in an infusion chair for (5) hours. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative breast cancer in January of 2025 and I knew that I wanted a double mastectomy almost right away. I met with another surgeon who told me that I would have to have expanders and implants to supplement my DIEP flap surgery because I didn't have enough tissue in my stomach to rebuild my breasts (which are a B cup).
