Devon's -great service, food and ambiance for the fun professional – I have eaten as Devon's many times since the new management took over in January 2007. New Staff, Same Owners – While the food was decent, the overall experience was below average. We tried to sit and enjoy a cocktail upstairs before dinner however, the music was way too loud. The bar was not warm and inviting at all. When we got downstairs for dinner, the staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Everything seemed unorganized. Great for the whole Family – Devon is a wonderful place for some of the best seafood I have ever had. While the editorial review states it's not a place for kids, we had a great experience with ours. Their children's menu includes smaller portions of classic seafood items, like grilled salmon and fried shrimp. And the price was very reasonable. AWFUL SERVICE!!!!! – I was a faithful customer to Devons until this weekend. My boyfriend and I were celebrating my new job and wanted to go to our favorite place. After the meal, he paid with his credit card. Another server named Matthew takes the folder. We get the folder back, but just with receipts in it. Always the best dining experience – Weather it is just the two of us dining out for an evening or if we are entertaining local or International guests we have always enjoyed the best possible food and service at Devon Seafood Grill. Runaway Lobsters – Devon is a great place with a great concept, if they can carry out as promised. $5 menu for happy hour 4-7 and then from 9-midnight. The menu includes hamburgers (massive!), great mussels, calamari, bruschetta with goat cheese, etc. It's good food for a great price everyday. Valentine's Day Massacre – Chicago has some good seafood restaurants with great food and excellent service, like McCormick and Schmicks. Other restaurants like Devon overcharge customers for basic quality seafood and terrible service in a dining room that looks like it belongs on the Loveboat. Fantastic seafood.... – My boyfriend and I decided to try Devon's Seafood for a date night before a play. The atmosphere was amazing and the wait staff was incredibly helpful. Our waiter explained everything and included all ingredients in the dishes. Our glasses were always full and the food was great.
