Never reviewed places before but low key wanted to ask for my money back. I asked for a certain haircut and they cut way too much off the top without asking how much I wanted off. This is the problem with barbershops like this they know only fades and certain hairstyles and for the price I paid I got a great clips haircut look. Honestly, avoid this place.

Fadia… what a disappointment. I walked in, wasn’t greated by anyone. Once I greeted them and said good morning, Fadia couldn’t even bother to look up and say hello back. Then asks me to sit down and wait. She then proceeds to talk to her coworker about professionalism in the work place, ironic. Once she asked me to sit in the barber chair, she asked what I would like done. As I start to explain, she cuts me off saying I didn’t book the correct haircut type, that I booked “straight cut” when I should have booked “textured.” I... read more

This was my first time at Detroit Barber and it was an amazing experience. Emily was my stylist, and she did a fantastic job. She took her time and really paid attention to detail, which is something I appreciate. She asked me a lot of questions to make sure she was doing exactly what I envisioned. She was fun to talk to too! I will be going back next time I need a haircut.

This is definitely NOT an old school barbershop where our dads would go for a cheap cut, but more upscale with barbers of exceptional skill. One can expect to pay top dollar for an exceptional shave and/or haircut. I would suggest generous tipping, as I suspect that the Detroit Barber Company's salaries are less than competitive.
