They are very friendly and helpful. They make sure I’m okay and well taken care of. 💙
The nurses and staff are callous and inattentive toward patients they deem “unworthy” of care. It is my experience that this classification of patients is often drawn upon racial lines. While I thoroughly appreciate their continued service in the face of a deadly crisis - there is a racial disparity in this hospital’s quality of care. And that will kill people. We deserve better.
I am sad to hear about the racism a recent patient experienced here. During these critical times racism and oversight cannot be tolerated.
I am appalled to learn that this is one of the institutions functioning from a place of medical racism, and contributing to over-representation of Black people in mortality rates. My friend survived an experience at the ER by pure luck. Utterly deplorable. I have many family members in the medical field and you make them look terrible. Shame!

The communication system is circa 1950!!! You need dedicated phone/fax number combinations for each doctor (pharmacy faxes meant for doctors apparently go to the hospital switchboard, which never hands them over to the intended doctor), and there is no online information or communication system. Can't see patient records without two in-person trips to an obscure location (and money!) for hand-made photocopies. Can't ask for a simple prescription refill because the doctor's phone is on answering machine during his only one da... read more
