Tried to cash my tax return check and was told had to open a joint account instead of an individual account because both mine and spouses name where on the check. Teller said could only deposit it and could not cash it. Went to a credit union by a different name that I also have an account at. Easily cashed the check after I and my spouse.showed them id. Suspect it was not a well trained DCFU teller. Never the less, it was an unpleasant experience.
I used DFCU for about 20 years. I started referring people to use them for loans. They added things on to 2 of my brothers loans without their consent. They called and asked for proof that they signed up for the gap and other coverage. DFCU could not supply them with the proof, so they took off the added coverages, but the fact that this happened to 2 different brothers in 2 different branches is scary. I met Dan Wilkinson when I was seeking to refinance my existing auto loan. He was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. After about a 35-minute meeting, he had my loan application completed and advised me regarding the remaining info he needed to submit the application to underwriting. When I got that material to him, the loan was quickly approved. Someone forged a check on my account. Conner, with DFCU, worked with us to kindly close our account and open an we account for security purposes and kindly restored the stolen funds to our new account. Conner was super helpful, understanding and well informed of all the procedures. It was wonderful service that turned a tragic situation into a successful way forward! Most appreciated!
