I know Neil through the Vancouver Island blacksmiths association. Recently I purchased a Golf TDI and brought it in to have service done on it at Neil's shop. I wouldn't bring my vehicle anywhere else. They are kind, courteous and fair. They know what they're doing when it comes to VWs.
If I could give a 10 star rating I would! I was really nervous about bringing my car to a shop for the first time ever, it the newest vehicle I’ve owned by about 20 years. My wife our new puppy and myself were starting our camping trip in our 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia and our alternator packed it in. We called BCAA and then Ellice Automotive. Neil gave me excellent advice and told me I could use jumper cables and connect the house battery to the car battery and drive to his shop. We arrived 30 minutes before closing. I want to give Neil and his crew a BIG THANKS! Had some transmission issues with vintage bus and needed some help. Neil really went above and beyond in his efforts to help. I saw (in stages) some of the steps taken and I’m quite convinced very few people nowadays would be able to do what he did. He completely dismantled and then rebuilt my 55 year old transmission and got me on my way just in time to go camping! The bus hasn’t ran this smoothly in a long time…
Asked for a simple brake job estimate over the phone and they were super rude. Called the Beetle Auto Service and no problemo. I’ve been a VW owner for 30+ years and I’m over these small speciality shops staying busy while being rude to their customers.
