I found Dr. Ochiai to be incredibly condescending and someone who was quick to want to do surgery without doing a thorough review of any medical conditions. I understand he is a well respected orthopedic surgery, but bedside manner is also horrible. For the second visit, I brought my husband. When I asked any questions, he then looked at my husband when giving a response. I would not recommend him to anyone, especially a female patient.
First orthopedist to be willing to do the revision surgery that I desperately needed, given that the hip capsule was not healing on its own like a previous surgeon had thought it would. This surgeon did an excellent job, and I feel like he is the first surgeon to actually listen to me, And was able to apply legitimate medical knowledge to the issue that I was dealing with. Dr. Ochiai was my third opinion for the issues I’ve been dealing with for several years. I am grateful I did not settle with somebody else and continued to strive for excellence. He was able to conduct a virtual appointment with me. He thoroughly reviewed my MRI and went through every possible pathology as well as surgical scenario. Dr. Ochai is a superb doctor. He truly listens and is thorough in his diagnostic approach. Even when it's a complicated situation, he will tenaciously get to the source of the problem and identify appropriate treatments whether surgery or other more conservative measures. The x-ray staff in the Arlington office is also fantastic.
