Ambulance driver stated patient had to go to DHHA for better care! Patient has Kaiser Pt had seizure with possible head trauma… St Joes could not deal with that!!! St Joes was Closer I worked for DHHA I know the scam!!!
Not like you have much of a choice in which ambulance company you take but this company is horrible. An uber what get you faster to a hospital than this company and cost you over $1600 less. Billing department is a nightmare.
This is one of the only ambulance services in the area. I don’t even live in Denver county I live in arapahoe. I live 4 min down the road from a hospital. I got 4 ambulance bills all with different “base rates” and then the mileage price was about $25 each. These base rates are thousands of dollars and I was told they vary based on what is done during the ambulance rides. The Denver Health paramedic scared me into riding in the ambulance. There was another person in the ambulance who was highly inebriated so I had to sit on the side. They still expect me to pay full price for this shared ride. They also sent my bill to Target instead of me for four months. They are more concerned about money than they are about saving lives.
