The “No Whining” sign was the first major red flag. I came in to have my three year old’s teeth assessed. I filled out a list to indicate very clearly the ways in which my daughter is sensitive include loud voices and also separation anxiety. The doctor immediately decided to try to pull my daughter away from me to see if she would go with her - and my daughter became traumatized and cried for me. I’m not sure what dentist would require a child (especially a three year old) to be separated from their guardian for treatments, but this place requires it. They don’t want parents back there with their kids. I’ve worked for two dentists and we have never, ever separated a child from their parent, let alone a three year old. The doctor spoke terribly loudly even for me, and it made my daughter who has sensory issues very nervous. My child left this place shaking and in tears. Now I have to do damage control to try to get my daughter to go to any dentist again, because she is scared. She begged me to leave his place and I agree, she and I couldn’t wait to get out of this office. Sorry NOT sorry, Dentistry for Kids, for whining. Your place is not a place for kids and the doctor was not empathetic in the slightest. Your doctors need more training based on child development, sensory issues, and overall sensitivity.

You nodded ok. It was never my intention to traumatize her. I am not familiar with your Ministry’s teachings concerning shaming and forgiveness, but I hope you are able to accept my apology. I am truly sorry! With every experience there is room for growth no mater the age or the experience and I will continue to grow! Thank you! ❤️

Seriously amazing. They bring the kids back on their own which makes them much more calm. They are masters of distraction. They explain everything with just the right amount of detail to give kids some understanding, but not enough to freak them out. Love love them.

My 2.5 year old got his first exam today and I was worried that he would cry or throw a tantrum. But they let his older brother sit next to him which helped a lot. No crying or tantrums, and they took adorable pictures of them. My son did try to take a toy fire truck from the play area but I managed to pry it out of his hands. Sorry about that! You are all really kind and patient with little kids. Thanks to all the staff here!
