It is an older hotel but surprisingly, it is nice.
As a fan of mid-century architecture, Cross Keys is a very cool place and the Delta Hotel retains many architectural elements that were iconic in the last half of the twentieth century: casement windows, angled ceilings for rooms on the fourth floor and nice transitions from lobby to courtyard. That said, the elevators need thoughtful upgrades. It would be good if Delta/Marriott corporate would take a look at what Hilton did with Hotel Marcel in New Haven. This hotel is a bit unique and exceptional. It is situated right in a very small complex of shops and terrific restaurants & eateries: There are three full service restaurants (Mexican, Chinese and Italian/new American cuisines), an amazingly good coffee, bread & pastry shop (that actually has a good offerings of breakfast and lunch items), and an ice cream shop.
