Delfina is tiny but very popular, which generally means it is packed and quite loud inside. Luckily, you will not need to say much except, "This is really good!" and "I would like another order of this," both of which can be conveyed with hand gestures and facial expressions. Seafood dishes are the highlights of the menu. So are the pastas, risottos and vegetarian specialties. Save room for dessert, which features the awe-inspiring Panna Cotta that is a homemade religious experience. The service is terrific.

Delfina Restaurant is Overpriced, Food is Underwhelming Overpriced and underwhelming. My ricotta ravioli entree consisted of 6 tiny ravioli, hardly enough to qualify as finger food at a cocktail party. Noise was overwhelming and made normal conversation impossible. Definitely would not return there nor recommend Delfina to anyone looking for an Italian meal in the Mission district.
World class dining I was fortunate enough as tourist, to be invited to dinner at Delfina by a dear friend who lives in the SanFrancisco area. It was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The service was top notch, the food exquisite as was the wine list. The eclectic ambience made it the perfect dining experience.
As soon as we sat down, the server warned us that we only had 90 minutes to eat and leave. In all the restaurants we’ve ever eaten, we never had this rude warning from any restaurant staff before., especially when they are not even busy. We spoke to the Manager, Ken and he didn’t apologize, he said, “oh well!” Coming from a Manager with that poor customer service attitude, who doesn’t care whether or not a customer returns back to their restaurant surely should not be managing any business. Absolutely some of the best Italian food outside of Italy. The Potato gnocchi was out of this world. We had a grilled calamari with navy beans as an appetizer that was outstanding and the black cod which was my main course with fennel and fingerling potatoes was absolutely phenomenal. Even the bread was great the service was outstanding wonderful wine list they didn’t hurry us out of there and I definitely will go back. But you have to have a reservation!!!!
