Based on the recommendation of a neighbor, I hired Decks, Etc. to convert a covered back porch into a cedar screened porch and remove some wrought iron railing in the process. It went well at the beginning: Cheryl came out and sat down with me and we discussed the project and what needed to be done. If I could rate this company zero I would! Bid on a huge backyard patio job, acted as if she could do it all no problems! She used substandard materials, didn’t get landmarks approval (she said it wasn’t necessary) causing us to be stuck in a muddy backyard mess for months with no work being done. In the middle of our project her main crew workers quit on her. We had a horrible experience with Cheryl and her crew. She did not finish our VERY large project, took us for money already paid and then disappeared. We had to pay another contractor to not only finish the project, but to correct mistakes she made—many involving code enforcement. Code enforcement put a stop work order on the project because she failed to get ANY permits. Cheryl told us they weren’t necessary.
