I absolutely love Dr. Hazen. Not only is she the most caring Doctor, but she also happens to be brilliant, always giving me great advice. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes (& it's usually less), and have never felt like she was rushing; rather, I always feel well taken care of. I have had various health issues during the 15 or so years I have been going to her practice and she has only referred me to the best doctor in each practice area. Dr.Hazen has been my PC for close to a decade and I have been extremely pleased with everything about her practice. Doctor is very knowledgeable and always concerned about her patient’s welfare.
Been seeing Dr.Hazen since I was a kid up until I was about 20 years old. I had a very bad experience in the last few years I saw her. She canceled a appointment I waited 6 months for because she wanted me to come to her. I stopped going to her office after I had caught a children’s virus which caused ulcers in my tonsils. Dr Hazen has been my doctor for several years. She was an enormous help to me in maneuvering my mom’s many needs as she aged. Mom had many health issues. She was taken into Mass General. I gave the Dr at MG Dr Hazen’s number and told him to call. It was a Friday night he said he would call her on Monday. I said please call, she will take your call. Dr. Hazen was my doctor for over 15 years. In the beginning she was very kind and seemed like she actually cared about my wellbeing. However, over the last few years she has become the most condescending, know it all doctor, who is dangerously incorrect with her facts. The last straw before I moved on from her was when I called her to explain my symptoms but she wouldn’t allow me to speak, told me there was nothing wrong with me, then preceded to give me incorrect information. Agree with the positive reviews. Have been a patient since 2002 or so, and I have found her to be personal and personable, caring, direct, and with access to an excellent network of specialists. While I have moved around MA, I have not changed her as my PCP. No hesitation to recommend her.
I only lasted with this Dr. for 2 visits. I agree with all reviews that say she is condescending and rude. She also misdiagnosed a serious life threatening condition and was upset that I went to a specialist. Good thing I did not listen to her. It saved my life. She thinks she knows everything but on the contrary is very misinformed. I would not trust her judgement.
Dr. Hazen was my pcp for about a decade. Initially I was very impressed by her attentiveness, knowledge and thoroughness. But over the last 3 years I was with her she became more condescending, impatient and rude. She actually called me on the phone to berate me because I went to my ob/gyn for management of a condition vs going to her. The last straw was when labs showed a serious condition that requires immediate surgery and she told me I didn’t need it. I was rushed to ER.
At first Dr Hazen seems like a doc with great personal touch, she calls you with your results, takes time with you and sees you on short notice. However, she does not like her patients to have an opinion, be proactive in their own healthc or to ask too many questions. You must do as she tells you. She easily loses her temper if you don't follow the rules. She is very condescending and will lecture you. She frequently criticizes other doctors which I find unprofessional
