Went to Deanie's Dec. 29,2016. Got the half seafood platter...fish had an oily flavor sliver belly oily gray strip was still attached. Didn't want oysters but it would have been $2.00 up charge on top of the $35.00 menu price to swap out for fish or shrimp. And none of fried seafood had seasoning. Worst service ever. The manager and server were both very unprofessional and deceitful.
The food was awesome until we discovered a bug in the catfish!! The charbroiled oysters were amazing!!! Service was great and staff was good too
1st time we've been to Deanie's in the French Quarter, we had the crab and crawfish quartet, it was DELICIOUS especially the crawfish bisque. Roxanne was a great waitress, she even got us some medicine for my daughter who a bad headache. We will definitely be back!!
The food and service was great...and the price is worth the food
The wait was long but that is a factor. Service was ok and the food was great, hot, and fresh.
I had some family in from out of town and they wanted boiled crawfish. I called many places and found Deanies to be one of the only places to serve boiled crawfish as it was real early in the season and it was a Monday. They quoted me over the phone, $5.49 per pound. So we went to have lunch, ordered 8 lbs of crawfish along with many other things. I glanced at the bill before paying it and saw that we were getting charged $72 for our 8 lbs of crawfish. Ate in Bucktown. Let me start off by saying, if you had a choice of "minus Stars" I would have chosen that. This was the worst dining out experience I have ever had. Shared Crabmeat Quartet with my sister. Evidently, EVERYTHING that's fried gets the same batter. Whether it's crabmeat balls, crab claws, or soft shell crab. Great New Orleans seafood place. Huge plates (buy one for two people). Reasonably priced and good service. Eat at the bar and avoid the normal wait.
