Broken femur, tells me that I can start running after 4 months of being hit by car, stated the pain is still off the charts. After seeing another surgeon for second option, there is a problem with not healing properly and doctors complete disbelief that I was told I can start running. Dr Schaefer told that every patient at this point in recovery feels no pain, fully recovered and capable of starting to jog, he basically told me to go on my way after 4 months of treatment. Complete crap, suffering extreme pain in the femur ar... read more
David Schafer did my partial -Knee replacement in 2007 and it was the Best thing I ever did, it was a very successful surgery.Dr Schafer is the Best you can get.
We have used Dr. Schafer for my children's sports injuries. He is excellent! He takes the time to explain exactly what the issue is and how he plans to correct it. My daughter had a complete rupture of her deltoid ligament and she is almost back to normal after surgery 8 months ago and ready for her basketball season. I would recommend him and his practice to anyone.
Dr. Schafer repaired my fractured tibia. He was able to quickly get me scheduled for surgery and clearly communicated my path to recovery. He did a great job with the surgery and was easy to get a hold of with any questions i had. He routinely followed up with my physical therapist to monitor my progression. My leg healed faster than I anticipated and i have minimal scar tissue. I would definitely recommend him for any orthopedic surgery.
He's very rude and not committed to his patient's health or well being. Very disappointing.
I saw Dr. Schafer for a 2nd opinion because I didn't want to rush into surgery as the 1st Dr. recommended. I'm happy I did. My physical therapist recommended him based upon his "work" and how Dr. Schafer's patients traditionally heal. I think Dr. Schafer is a wonderful doctor and I trust his opinion. I drive an hour just to see him!
had gotten 2 surgeries from Dr. Schafer, one on each shoulder. he mentioned that i didnt need surgery on my torn rotator cuff, bicep tendon, and labrum...??? i insisted as the pain and mobility were terrible. after surgery, the first thing he said was, "glad we did that, your shoulder was much worst than i thought once i took a look in there." thanks. the worst part of Dr. shafer is his office. when wanting to speak with him, they basically said "make an appointment or get lost". do not use him
This doctor is very sharp. If you haven't tried him you are missing out (especially if you've had bad experiences with other average orthopedics.) He takes the time to explains things in detail and, is a great listener. I had a partial meniscectomy on both knee that went so well I 'walked' out of post op in 2 hours. His assistant is also very good with following thru on all the pre-op scheduling & paper work.
