My experience with Dr. Heiman was appalling and deeply upsetting. From the moment he walked into the room, he was cold, dismissive, and condescending. I was admitted specifically to be evaluated by him, and yet he treated me as though I was an inconvenience rather than a patient in need of care. Dr. Heiman’s examination was devoid of compassion and entire time with him was rushed. When asked to say “Ahh,” he never actually looked in my mouth/throat; rather, it felt as though he wanted to move onto the next box to check off the “comprehensive” exam list. Bedside manners and communication skills were ineptly delivered. Bottom line, Dr. Heiman’s [future and existing] patients would benefit if he wore empathy lenses to minimize the portrayal of patients being merely a claim number.

Dr. Heiman explores all avenues to insure your best health, and just his positive attitude makes you feel better. His attention to minor details allowed him to find my colon cancer while it was still in Stage 1. As the title says, he's "THE BEST."

Profoundly disappointed. Second opinion test results obtained pressed his office into action. Requested assistance in expediting referral appt - was put off twice. Turns out they are not fully informed of the TGH program options - contributing ultimately to the worst possible outcome.

I like that Dr. Heiman is direct and to the point but will explain medical jargon in layman's terms. Easy to understand and to ask question. His office staff is always friendly and professional. He has cared for me very well over the past years. I trust him!

(Last post to fit everything): I’m lucky that I found amazing Drs recently- ones that listened to my concerns and ordered different test right away. Less than a week later, I had my surgery ?? Best of luck to anyone having ongoing medical problems- I know it’s rough which is why finding the RIGHT Drs is so important

Excellent doctor! Very sympathetic, kind, and professional. I called the office to tell them that my Mom’s feeding tube came out, Dr Heiman called me back within 5 minutes with instructions on what to do. Straight forward and precise, expert in his field. I highly recommended this doctor.

Dr Heiman has always listened attentively and presented me better overall plans and strategies than other gastroenterologist’s. His ability to blend modern trials, clinical practice, and even holistic approaches was to me well received. I found his breadth of knowledge refreshing. I’ve been to many similar docs, but see no foreseeable reason to change.

I'll skip talking about his social skills. It's been said by others. I wasted too much of my time with him. Several months, where I lost about 10 pounds (30 since Feb total) mysteriously. I was at hospital overnight for my heart. No colonoscopy, just a stool test, in all that time. They have made appointments for me without my consent several times and lie telling me they can't do that. I asked them to remove me from their system so it doesn't happen again- for the 2nd time.
