Dr. Amstutz gave me options for surgery or not and put no pressure on me to have the surgery. Dr. Prilliman spoke very highly of him which is why I wanted to have him do the surgery. I had to be awake during my surgery and the six or so staff, including the doctor, in the OR with me were THE nicest people! Dr. Amstutz is an excellent doctor who took his time in examining my eyelids. He then was very thorough with his explanation of what my options were. Thirty years ago he reconstructed one of my tear ducts, and did an excellent job. I knew then that if I ever needed eyelid surgery, he was my guy. I recently had an appointment with him and found that he continues to be caring, thorough and very informative.
I am so grateful I was referred to Dr. Samuel Amstutz. My right eyelid was practically closed which impeded my vision. On my initial visit, I was very impressed and felt comfortable. He explained the surgical procedure and even drew a diagram of what he would do, so that I would be well informed of the surgical process and post- op healing. Just got my stitches out after blepharoplasty. Dr.. Amstutz was fabulous from first consulting appointment, thru surgery and today removal of stitches. Tremendous surgeon all the way. He gained my confidence after the initial visit and I am very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend!
I went to a doctor after seeing a few flashes at night and this doctor walked out and said, you are having emergency surgery tonight and sent me to Dr. Chacko because I had a detached retina. I had three surgeries from Dr. Chacko and I felt like I was in the best of care. I still see him regularly. Not only is he a brilliant doctor, he is an amazing person as well. I had both my lower and upper eyelids done by Dr. Amstutz, and the results were outstanding. Before the surgery, i was concerned about bruising and the possibility of not looking like myself afterward. However, my fears were completely unfounded. I experienced absolutely no bruising, and the shape and functionality of my eye remained the same - just a more youthful version of myself. Dr. Amstutz is incredibly knowledgeable, caring and experienced, making him the top doctor in Kansas. Excellent job; i couldn't be happier.
Our 15 month old son had a very narrow opening to his right tear duct. After referrals, many appointments, and also understanding the safest age to have our child under anathesia, my husband and I were directed to Dr. Amstutz for a silicone intubation procedure. I just seen Dr. Amstutz for my son who has tear duct issues. We were referred due to they believe he would need surgery. Dr. Amstutz knew nothing about my son basically asked why am I here. When I told him, he did not say much. After looking at my son there may be a little Improvement but as a mother I need to know every detail and impact. Dr Chacko is the sweetest, kindest Dr I have ever known. There are way too many patients every day, with full waiting rooms, but Dr always has a smile and a reassuring grip to share.
