"Reflecting on why I chose medicine as a career, I realize I wanted to help others and keep them from enduring the pain and suffering associated with medical affliction. Having lost my mother at an early age after a long battle with breast cancer, I...

A wonderful experience with Dr. Halpern from A-Z. Between his level of care, compassionate nature and the end result of a successful surgery, I was delighted to be his patient. If you live on Long Island you are spoiled to be have access to Dr. Halpern and NYU Langone. I would recommend anyone to him.
Dr. Halpern takes the time to 'listen' to your complaints. Will allow you to talk, without being cut off or rushed. I have hernia mesh complications, where I had 4 major surgeries in a 3 year span. (2018 to 2021). A year ago, I traveled from TN to Long Island to have another double hernia surgery. I no longer can have permanent mesh put into my groin. Too much tissue damage. I had my first ever surgery today with Dr.Halpern. I was nervous but he took the extra time to speak with me and make me feel comfortable. He even called me while on vacation to explain my test results before the procedure. I have friends who work for NYU Langone and Dr.Halpern has the reputation of a surgeon that doctors and nurses use for themselves when needed. Today’s procedure went smoothly and I’m home resting comfortably. Thank you Dr.Halpern!
Dr. Halpern repaired my inguinal hernia. I opted for open repair because of underlying issues. I honestly never write reviews but I felt obliged in this case. As a physician myself, I am aware of the indifference that many physicians display in an ever more technology-driven profession. Not so, Dr. Halpern. My experience with him was a breath of fresh air. He is not only highly competent but caring as well.
Dr. Halpern performed minimally invasive hernia repair surgery on me 2-1/2 months ago, now all of three hernias: two on inguinal and one on incision get disappeared. It's amazing! Highly recommend.
Dr Halpern is a great surgeon and a good person. I highly recommend him.
Excellent doctor. Wonderful bedside manner, reassuring and calming manner
Pleasant, informative. Very kind man. Smart , excellent Doctor!
Very lame front desk—arrived at 10:30 for 11:00 app’t—-was instructed to take a seat and would be called—-watched as many others entered the exam rooms—-at 11:35 I returned to the front desk and asked why I had not been called—-found I had not been processed—-asked reception to advise “office manager” that I was leaving—-never met the doctor—-will now find another GP...
