Before my cataract surgery Dr. Hwang and I discussed why I was having the surgery. I said that I wanted to be able to read foreign film subtitles on television and read street signs, both of which I could no longer read with my prescription glasses. Post cataract surgery subtitles on television are out of focus unless I wear glasses, and most street signs I can not read even with glasses. When I told Dr. Hwang about my concerns he said to me "you are a bitter person." I worked at UCSF my entire life as an ICN nurse, and if a... read more

Dr Hwang is worth any wait, any time. He did both of my corneal transplants in 2021. I have Fuchs’ Dystrophy and was rapidly going blind. My eyesight is now amazing and clear! Before my cataract surgery Dr. Hwang and I discussed why I was having the surgery. I said that I wanted to be able to read foreign film subtitles on television and read street signs, both of which I could no longer read with my prescription glasses. Post cataract surgery on my right eye, subtitles on television are out of focus and most street signs I can not read. My right eye vision never became clear. I have a focal point 20 inches in front of my face. I cancelled my left eye cataract surgery.
