I have a significant disorder which Dr Clayton was able to diagnose and treat. I am a new person and happy.
He was uninspired in treating our adolescent son. Never dealt with the real issues. He asked the same questions about school at every appointment and kept asking our son if he wanted medications to help him in school -- but we were there for completely other reasons. Was unimpressed overall.
I've been seeing Dr Clayton for years now, I started as a kid and am now an adult, I'm probably his longest term patient. He is truly incredible. First of all he got me on the right anti-depressants right away. I have your basic SAD/general anxiety combo and he knew just what to prescribe to help me. Over the years he has given such incredible truly life-saving advice. I lost a friend to suicide and would have likely followed if he hadn't been there for me. Excellent psychiatrist! Gets back to me within 24 hours when I email him. Calls back, usually the same day. Listens to what I have to say and is respectful of my suggestions about my care.
Was referred to Dr. Clayton (a transfer within the same practice) but the transfer didn't go through so in front of our child (the patient) he spoke rudely and did not see us that day (although we took off work and our child from school), never got back about rescheduling. I reached again out and he refused to treat our son and said that he needed "more help" and never offered anything else. Any other medical professional would at least have give referrals. I would NEVER recommend this DM.
