Great Dr, but the wait times are awful. An hour or more at most visits.
My interactions with Gastrointestinal Associates have now ended with me discharging myself after my Upper GI. First of all I had a scheduled colonoscopy and upper Gi at 8:45 am. I called at 6 am since my liquid stool wasn't a clear color for the colonoscopy and the nurse said run to the store and pick up a bottle of magnesium citrate. I asked her if I could drink a sprite since the sugar usually helps clean out my colon and she said no and I stated I would see what I could do. And apparently, she canceled my entire appt! If Dr. Aguilar is ever running late its because he was talking to patients, For a man with a lot of patients he has a lot a patience.
Dr. Rama was recommended by my PCP as my previous Gastro was closing her practice. I am quite familiar with my condition and its issues and treatments. In the past, I previously called Dr. Rama’s office about an intestinal infection and got a callback two weeks later, asking if I still needed help, though the issue had resolved itself. I was frustrated by the delay and unnecessary follow-up weeks later. Was rushed; the nurses put in my updates incorrectly and the checkup lasted less than four minutes. Friendly guy, but later realized I did not get any bloodwork done to check up on my prescriptions in over a year or even updated vaccinations. He's just there to get the hospital's metrics up and that's disappointing.
Antaris has ABSOLUTELY NO BEDSIDE MANNER! In fact he’s actually very odd. First, unlike all other Retinal Specialists that have treated her wet MD with injections they do the eye exam & injection the same visit. He requires 2 visits; one for exam then a return visit for injection. My mother is 97 & has difficulty walking & lives 50 miles from his office. He could not have cared less when I told him that. This is the type of doctor that when you get in the door simply gives short curt responses and is clearly not interested in the patient's overall health. His demeanor is such that you have to wonder why this went into practice in the first place, as he has an obvious disdain for his patients and clearly lacks the personal skills to deal with them professionally. Doctors like this run down a litany of percentages, spout off the most likely diagnosis, if that, close their clip board and tell you to have a nice day. People need... read more
