I went to Dr Jones for an Inguinal Hernia. Ended up being both sides that needed repaired. I was not a candidate for the laparoscopic surgery due to previous complications with abdominal surgery so it was done openly. He was very knowledgeable and polite and also turns out - an excellent surgeon. The surgery went very well. About as good as can be expected. I highly recommend him!
I had been dealing with a blocked bile duct and stone filled gallbladder for a few weeks. Other surgeons stated they couldn’t fix both due to having had gastric bypass 18 years prior. I ended up in the ER very late one night with extreme pain, which turned out to be caused by pancreatitis that developed due to the blockage. As much as it pains me to write this review, I believe it's essential for potential patients to be aware of our experience with Dr. David Jones. If I could, I'd give a 0-star rating, not out of spite, but as a reflection of our genuine disappointment. Our journey with Dr. Jones began with my wife's gallbladder issue. Unfortunately, it took him two attempts to rectify the problem. Great bedside manner and excellent surgeon. Had emergency gallbladder surgery and later went back to repair a hernia. Great experiences both times.
Dr Jones is friendly, personable, communicative, and informative. I appreciate his care.
Technically he did a good job operating on my small bowel obstruction. Bedside manner terrible. He left everything to the residents and never talked to me. When I was in the ER, I asked if he was in my insurance plan. He refused to tell me and said he left that up to his office staff. It was 8pm so they were closed. My only choice was to go to another hospital but I needed emergency surgery. Turned out he was not in network and balance billed me. Terrible experience.
Dr. Jones took time to discuss my surgery beforehand, and answered all of my questions. My recovery went as expected, and as described by Dr. Jones.
Removed gallbladder. Did an excellent job. Listened and responded to all of my questions. I felt he was honest and cared about my personal needs. I train with weights and jiu jitsu extensively and he gave me perfect advice on how to handle the post surgery healing and my training. I imagine that most surgeons naturally learn a specific monologue when speaking with patients about procedure they’ve done 100s if time. I expect that. I needed a procedure done quickly and Dr. Jones turned out to be the right surgeon. Very personable, immediately felt comfortable around him and he explained things clearly. I'm a cause and effect guy, needing to understand absolutely everything and he left me with no questions. When it came time to do the procedure he was professional, went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, made it known to me and the entire staff that I was his patient and he would care for me.
