After finally getting an appointment to see dr. Sadek through my family doctor 6 months ago I found the whole experience disconcerting. I drove over an hour to Dartmouth, filled in a medical history questionnaire, waited about a half hour & then went into an empty room alone with a laptop @ an end to a hallway. In 2022 I was referred to Dr. Sadek for an ADHD assessment - I didn't know exactly what to expect from the appointment, but at a minimum I hoped to have some advice to assist me with managing my day to day life, be that therapy or medicine. Everything about the appointment felt wrong from the moment I walked into the building and was met with a tatted piece of paper taped to the wall instructing patients to go to the second floor. I think people want a reason to complain about the only service in this province that’s covered by MSI and is free when referred under maple and doesn’t cause financial issues for people on Department of Community Services based insurance that doesn’t cover private and who can’t afford to pay out of pocket for this kind of Specialized Care. Do not recommend. I’m looking to get a second opinion. Most of my family and now friends are all getting diagnosed with ADHD or autism and they keep telling me I’m like them and there’s things out there to help so I don’t need to struggle so much. They were sure once I get the diagnosis I’d have access to more resources and I can make work and school fit me instead of me trying to fit the work and school structure by taking meds. Long wait times to get into the clinic. Long wait times at the clinic. Poor testing methods and inaccurate and dangerous diagnosing. Dr Sadek spends only 5-10 minutes with a patient and then gives a diagnosis. I understand the health care field is overtaxed and understaffed, but this is very poor patient care.
