Best Psychiatrist I've seen in Tucson. Honest and very upfront which I appreciate. Has excellent bed side manner and takes the time to listen and get the whole picture before making a recommendation. Always, always, always works with me and my agenda not his. Not a pill pusher, which feels rare nowadays. 10/10 ??

On first visit he laughed at many of my answers I gave and on one he told me “it was in kindergarten” with a ma’am that’s a first world problem kinda look and moved onto the next question. Then on another visits I told him I feel like I have no sense of self, he said “you’re 40 years old you have a sense self” rudely I may add then again moved on to the next question. If your a “sensitive” person don’t go to him.

Darren seriously knows his stuff. After decades of struggling, I found Darren. He listened and found a really good approach to treatment. I take two different meds that work very well together. No other practitioner had been able to treat me with such success. This Nurse Practitioner is so much better than any Psychiatrist I have ever known. If you need help this is the guy.

I've been seeing Darren since 2007. He is caring, down to earth, and tries his best to get to know his patients well, despite a heavy (and well deserved) patient load. In general, I haven't had great experiences with psychiatric health professionals, but Darren is definitely a good person, and it shows in his practice.

In my experience, NP. Hammergren truly cares about the people he sees, and is careful of the prescriptions he gives, which I appreciate. He listens and takes everything into consideration. He helped me find the perfect combination, for me. I have experience with many NP's, but I would recommend Darren Hammergren.

Repeated attempts to get staff to forward appropriate paperwork for initial consultation were unsuccessful. Staff did not return phone calls or provide documents as promised. Ultimately had to go to another practitioner for services. Somewhat disappointing, even with consideration to how busy practice may be.
