Bought a Grand Cherokee at Darscar Jeep Rockville a year and a half ago. I had my research re pricing and they matched another dealer, likely because of end of year incentives. I did have to get up during negotiations and was told to sit back down when I was ready to walk out. I did a couple simple oil changes but now at 26k miles, was told the engine air filter and cabin air filter needed changing. Told it would cost $300 for both installed. I sat in waiting room and within 5 mins had watched both YouTube’s on how to do this myself. Told the service manager to not change these two air filters. I walked over to the parts department, bought both filters for 100. Upon coming home, it did take 10 mins to change both as I had not done this before. I also asked for service to rotate tires. Fee under 40. That’s reasonable. Was told one tire has a leak and it’s “not going to get better”. I asked how this was found as on board diagnostics hasn’t picked this up. Service manager said pressure was low and tech used soapy water to find leak. Suggestion was to buy 4 new tires with alignment. Wow. I’ve been home 8 hours and so far no change in tire pressures. Must be microscopic leak and the tech must have special powers to see this. Needless to say, I’m done with this place. Caveat Emptor. Glad I was born two days ago and not yesterday.
