At my first meeting with this dentist, after a cleaning, she asked “guess you never had braces, huh?” And when I replied that indeed, I had braces 30 years ago, she replied “what happened to your retainer?” Extremely unprofessional way to address an issue I’m already sensitive about; my shifting teeth that now have spaces after 30 years.
