I tried telling him I didn’t think therapy was for me- I didn’t want to offend him and say it was him i didnt like. Anyway he made me really uncomfortable bc he kept asking me to just give it more time. I saw him 8 or 9 more times and i ended up being so disappointed in myself bc i didn’t stand up for myself. Many things fell apart during COVID-19, 20, 21, and now 22 - work, my marriage, losing friends because of politics. I'm not used to talking this way - the last time I went to counseling was in high school. I just have to say, Dr. Dan was the best. He was easy to reach. He has some serious knowledge, but doesn't flaunt it. He wrote me right back. His assistant got through to insurance for me and is helping get me my benefits. I wish he had been upfront in the beginning about not being experienced treating my condition. I feel like I wasted a lot of time and MONEY. I paid cash and I feel that had something to do with him being so eager to take me as a client. I can’t help but think my occupation and him seeing the nice car I drive is why he convinced me to see him twice a week. I don’t trust him
Intelligent and philosophical. If you just need someone to talk to, he's open minded and always willing to listen. If you need actual help or feedback, you will not find it here. During telehealth visits you will come second to whomever is at the door, or his kid, which seems highly unprofessional at over $200/hour. Minus a star for complete denial in his own responsibility as a therapist when let go for months of inaction and a complete lack of guidance despite repeatedly being asked if he needed more from me as a patient. ... read more

did not feel comfortable talking to him. Having issues with anxiety & feeling judged and his personality definitely not a good fit if you have these issues.
Business response:
The last thing a therapist who dedicates his life to easing pain would do is "judge". I try to ease pain and improve one's choices & understanding. Opening up about uncomfortable things can be difficult - but a great many former patients, by name, have stated online that I've made speaking about difficult things much easier, and making difficult decisions more manageable. I will always help smooth the way with my patient....if they stay to speak with me about their feelings, rather than blaming.
This guy is for real. I'm a vet - PTSD after Middle East deployment. No sob story, its just really hard getting back to life, to relationships. Guys at the Vet Center know him - he doesn't talk down, he takes what you have to tell him, its easy to tell if a doctor really listens. My buddies wife goes to him because of how their marriage was affected, and they love him. I just have to thank Dr. Dan, I can sleep, I can work - still work to do, but really getting there, finally, most of the way.
Saw him for a while approx 5 years ago and unfortunately it’s my biggest regret. It caused lots of problems and caused more damage as a result of seeing him. Worst part is that I’ve lost trust in trying therapy with anyone else. Btw- I’m a female in my mid-thirties

I think I know who this is, and considering the years of close work we did, I feel awful that something hurt her so. All I can say is that I guide people based on what they tell me about their lives, thoughts, and feelings, and offer support through factors beyond any one person's control. I will go the distance with someone who puts their trust in me, but I can't change reality...only help someone make the best of their's, and decide how to make the least hurtful choice. I wish her well.
Said it all on other sites. Just a great, relaxed therapist who made a big difference for me. (for us - back with my wife now - we know how to talk to each other)
