We saw Dr Krafchick for our son with Autism. She always wanted our son to behave in a manner impossible for him and seemed annoyed when he could not. When asked about medications near the end of an appt she would tell us our time was up so she couldn’t answer. Also during a crisis we left a message marked urgent. After 30 min and no call we left another message. She called and we were told she ran a solo practice and if we couldn’t wait 30 min we needed to find someone else to care for our kid.
We have been seeing Dr. Krafchick for years. She is very patient, especially in dealing with this forgetful Mom. She listens and really engages the children to input their feelings. Gathers data from parents, and teacher point of view. Super smart (Penn and Duke). No bells and whistles; she takes her job and responsibility very seriously.
Our son was diagnosed by multiple qualified providers as having ADD, ODD and depression. On the very first visit she decided to remove him from his ADD & ODD medication against our wishes. On the second visit she took him off his depression medication, again against our wishes. Predictably our son became incredibly difficult and spun out of control. When we contacted the office to restart him medication, the answer we received was "Sorry, we don't have any appointments for 6 weeks."
My daughter saw Dr. Krafchick for several years, for anxiety. About a year ago, she became very ill with a stomach disorder. This doctor accused her of making it up and being psychotic. She would always insult and make my child feel uncomfortable. She tried to make us put her on an antipsychotic medication, because apparently the problem was all in her head. It turns out, that my child has a severe and rare condition that is currently being treated with drastic medications to keep her alive.
We have been seeing her a number of years. Highly experienced and intelligent. Interactive, explaining in detail answers to questions. Kiddo is complicated. Trust her, after experiencing other docs. Has made a huge difference in our childs life. High marks for knowing her meds.
Dana Krafchick has a 3.2 star rating with 13 reviews.
