stoped here after a day at the zoo, the oysters on the half shell had lots of shell and were very unpleasant, the home made clam chowder was over thick, on the smoked fish plate the best thing was the smoked salmon

That being said, Dan & Louis’ Oyster Bar has been in existence more than 100 years, it may even be the oldest restaurant in Portland. I love checking out the old log books & photos, small glimpses of the Wachsmuth family history. ALWAYS a good idea to make a stop at Dan & Louis’ Oyster Bar.
