This Old Gun To most, this is just an old shotgun. To the gun folks of the world, this is a Stevens Model 940. Began production in 1950 ending 1968. Original sticker price $29. Value in perfect condition today is about $115. But this one was Doctor Lloyd Pye Sr.’s (my grandfather) hunting companion and he could not hold this gun without telling stories about memories he made with this gun. When I hold this gun, I hear his voice. Thank you to Dad’s Gun Shop for bringing this gun back to life for me.
