I had two house built by drhoton, one is in Forest bluff community, other is in Taylor, both of the house has the roof problem, the shingle is blown off by the wind on March 4,2025, very bad company and bad quality
D&H Roofing installed the roof of my house back in December of 2021 as part of a contract for DR Horton. within a few months in 2022 the shingles were blown off by the wind during a rain storm and caused water damage inside my home. D&H Came out to fix the shingles and assured the issue would not happen again, well it did happen 2 more times. This last time it happened they said it was out of their warranty period and I would have to contact the shingle manufacture, unfortunately this is for most of the homes in our sub divi... read more
Shingles flew off our roof on our new home. House is less than 4 years old.
After some research, it is evident that it is not the roofing company to blame for the poor quality and known-defective IKO shingles that the homebuilder chose to use. IKO has sold these shingles for years, and now everyone knows why the homebuilder switched to Tamko after years of receiving many warranty requests for shingles flying off roofs well below their rated windspeed as documented by the homebuilder.
