On my way to Sturgis, SD my truck broke down in Galesburgs, IL a quick google search put me in contact with Fred the owner of Custer's. The transmission of my truck died . Fred and his son came out pick up the trailer I was hauling and my truck, before I knew they were taking it apart within 30 minutes, they told me what was wrong. We worked out a solution and a few hours later and few hundred dollars later and a 3 hour trip ,I pick up a almost new transmission. Mr Custer and his son's had me back on the road the same day. Best mechanic EVER! This was the third mechanic I visited in Galesburg. My seatbelt wasn't retracting properly. The first mechanic said it would be $65 to take the panels off and clean the seatbelt, but if the retractor was broken, it would be more. The second mechanic said it would be SO expensive to fix and she wouldn't recommend "wasting money on it." I finally found Custer's. After the mechanic took the panel off, he pulled the seatbelt into the lock position several times, and it started to retract faster. The grease ha... read more
