Had this insurance for our home for 20 years we filed two small claims for pipe leak and we just received a notice that they are dropping us. I am really starting to doubt everything. You have to have coverage but they don't want to carry you. This insurance company wants your money and that is it! Forget the claims. I really wish it was something major so that they had to pay out more and I would have maybe gotten my moneys worth. Do NOT use this insurance group. Very disappointed and mad.
I was with this insurance company for over 30 years and never made a claim and just recently they sent me a notice of non renewal stating I lived in a fire zone. I live on the Piedmont Ca border, if that’s a fire zone then I don’t know what is. Terrible insurance you should never consider going with this company
Good to have for proof of insurance, although coverage is a JOKE. I had CSE for homeowners insurance for 6 years and each year my rates went up by about 35% so it has more than doubled in 4 years. I had no issue with customer service getting me the information I needed to cancel (which is why 2 stars) but they WOULD NOT let me cancel directly, I had to go through "my agent" who is in Colorado City, AZ - 400 miles away from me. No customer service, no serious concern when help is needed. CSE was happy to take our insurance premium for 15 years. Then we need help, but it was almost impossible to get customer service response. The claim was relatively small- less than $1,000. 3 emails and 2 calls to CSE did not work. The CSE service rep blamed the lack of response on the third party vendor (adjustor). Finally, our independent agent was able to get some response and a partially satisfactory result.
