My family has stayed at the same cottage once a week for the past 19 years. It has an amazing location and the vibe was originally pleasant however three years ago they hired Will. Will is the night supervisor and comes across abrasive and rudely in a stern disrespectful manner to elderly women. He has repeatedly upset and made some family members uncomfortable to the point of crying. We had been coming to Crystal Pier for many years, but unfortunately our recent experiences have been very disappointing. The rooms are extremely overpriced for their condition. They are outdated, showing their age, and in serious need of a complete remodel. For the rates they charge, we expected much better quality accommodations. Crystal Pier Hotel & Cottages is one of the most unique and memorable places to stay in San Diego. Sitting directly over the ocean on a historic wooden pier, the cottages offer an experience that feels completely different from a typical beachfront hotel. The biggest highlight is the location—you are literally sleeping above the waves, with the sound of the ocean all around you.
