Located in the historic Oxford Hotel, this stylish haunt, that resembles a lounge on the Titanic, is the perfect spot to brood over a martini and conjure the literary ghosts of Denver's Beat scene; Neil Cassady once sipped gin and tonic in this art deco room. Nowadays the scotch and soda crowd fill the bar stools and couples soak in the romantic ambiance tucked away in a comfortable booth. Regulars frequently mix with out-of-towners assuring an always-colorful conversation.

How the greats have fallen – Finding herself out of the particular gin I was drinking the Bartender brazenly downpoured (substituted a cheaper liquor for the one I ordered) my gin martini in the hopes I wasn't watching. Forget ordering a drink not off their vodka soaked 'specialty cocktail' menu, an inquiry for an Americano is only met with blank stares from the staff. It's unfortunate, you really want to like this bar, you want the staff to be passionate about their jobs, you want your lemon twist to spray oil all over your... read more
No Better Than This – I love this place. With 20 years of bar hopping in Denver, this is one of my favorites. Perfect for meeting before you go out. Perfect place to end the night and a perfect place to meet some interesting people. If there is a bar in Denver where you have an opportunity to meet celebrities, this is it. Most bands stay at the Oxford, so they end up in the Cruise Room. Have Fun.
a good date bar – One of my first dates in Denver(bad date...great bar) took me here and I have been back many times since. I just love the fact that I feel kind of like I'm in a little secret spot. It's not however, but for one evening, it can be you and your pals or you and your dates own Private Idaho if you're lucky. Almost as if you are in another time zone, a little bit flirty with the mood lighting, great cocktails and a little menu to match, the Cruise Room lets you sit back, enjoy your martini and chilllllllll.
Attached to the Oxford Hotel, this is an elegant hotel bar James Bond would love. – In Short With a name like Cruise Room, it makes sense that the decor here resembles that of an ocean liner: Red lights emanate from the walls while large, comfortable booths welcome the passengers. You'd expect to see James Bond at the bar sipping a Glenlivet and water, or maybe an extremely dry Ketel One martini. Instead you'll find hotel guests and locals, ranging from 20-somethings to baby boomers.
Great atmosphere, HORRIBLE wait staff – The Cruise Room definately had a romantic atmosphere and a great list of martinis. However the only waitress seem to be to busy getting her own groove on in the corner with a couple guys and servicing us seemed to be more of a burden then her job. Definately turned me off from wanting to return with future dates as the customer service was really that bad.
The Best in Town – Best Martini in town, barnone, served by pros. Ask the bartender to tell you about the history of the bar while you sip a Vodka highball with extra olives.
Lovers Drawn – If you were to stumble across the Cruise Room on a Romantic evening out with the one that warms your heart and revs your engine, it would become the stage for one of your favorite memories. The Cruise Room has an unparalleled enviance that invites you to feel sexy, and far removed from any boring reality. They have great coconut shrimp too!
Oh so Cosmopolitain!!!! – The most enjoyable bar I have ever frequented - you are the bar by which I measure all others now! A place where you don't have to re-order your drink, just let them know when to stop!
Coziest bar in town – When you walk in to the Cruise Room, the first thing you notice, of course, is the pink glow of the room. Then your eyes wander to the Art Deco engraved images on the walls of various cruise destinations. After that, your eyes wander down to the delicious lemon-drop martini you just ordered, served in the Cruise Room signature crooked stem martini glass with a shaker full of your next pour and a half. The Cruise Room is a Denver original and serves up some of the best martinis in town. The service is go... read more
