I went to the store and shack. Loved the creative food. The staff really went out of their way to introduce their dishes but with uniqueness and creativity.
Ah, the Crow's Nest, so many changes over the last 50 years. I only go upstairs now so I can not comment on the downstairs dining room. Current management really pushes the limit in the price of food and drinks and also sneaks in a service charge. It's probably not as crowded and fun for music and dancing probably because of the prices and cover charges. They also refuse to take the tables ever off the dance floor on Monday to Wednesday so they have some decent swing music but no place to dance - way to give their middle fin... read more
We were looking forward to a great seafood meal at the Crow's nest. In reality though, it was a sub par experience. It started with the parking - the machine should not hand out tickets if the lot is full, but I digress.... Excusing that, we went in. After some wait, we were seated at a table with the wall next to it displaying prior diners' food stains. That should have been the next sign, but I digress.... This was our 1st time at Crows Nest and we were pleasantly surprised! Dylan, the bartender was very helpful with food selections and was spot on. We had appetizers, the calamari, smoked salmon and theirhouse made potato chips. The calamari was sooo tender and delicious. The salmon was perfectly smoked and not dry at all (my worry). The chips were soooo thin and crispy. AND all of the accompanying sauces went very well with each item, they know their dips. We are from out of town and will definitely be back.
Be aware the restaurant and bar have different hours, and if you're in the restaurant you might want to get there early to not sit in the sunny side windows. Food is great and service is always good.
