Our family’s experience with this doctor at the University of Utah Hospital has been devastating. My mother entered the hospital walking, talking, and living independently. After her stay, she left with severe complications, including loss of mobility in her leg, significant cognitive decline, and constant pain. We were told the procedure had been repaired. Dr. Kilburg did two saving surgeries on our newborn. We traveled from Las Vegas to see him since it’s such a specialized surgery. From the consults to post op he was the best surgeon you could ask for. His bed side manner is incredible and he is sharp as a tack. He came in to check on my son even after completing an overnight emergency surgery. We were shocked to see him. It made us feel like people and not a diagnosis. My son is almost 4 now and is completely happy and healthy thanks to Dr. Kilburg. Cannot thank him enough.

We have been meeting with Dr. Kilburg for a few months now. We chose him after going to a different neurologist (not at the U) and we are really happy we switched. The office staff and nurses are much easier to get ahold of and the schedule is more reasonable. When we left our first meeting with Kilburg, my son (the patient) commented that he was kind and that made him feel safer. I feel he is humble and yet also competent and knowledgeable. I was shot in the head in 12/22. Dr Kilburg not only had to explain to my kids the scary, uncertain situation which he did professionally and kindly and answered all their questions and concerns, but also removed a bullet that had broke up in my head. The experience with Dr. Kilburg was outstanding. He was very pleasant which makes everything easier. He was patient and explained things in a clear and understandable fashion. He set out alternative treatments and gave his recommendations as to each. I recommend him wholeheartedly.
