Gary has a great command of the sea and the local organisms. My family had an amazing trip with him out the St. Lazaria island. A highlight of the time I've spent in South East Alaska

We had a wonderful time in Sitka thanks to Cpt. Gary. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and knew the best spots to find the local wildlife. Hope to cross paths again.

My husband, 3 daughters (13-20) and I thoroughly enjoyed Gary's wildlife excursion. We were so excited to see sea otters, sea lions, puffins, bald eagles and a couple whales pretty early into the excursion. Gary knew where to go and was diligent in exchanging information with his fellow tour operators and being on lookout for signs of whales. We had a wonderful trip out with Cpt. Gary and his little dog Niko. I took my parents out on the boat and while the wildlife was brilliant I think they loved the little dog the most! Gary was very friendly and so knowledgable about the area. Our boat was small but very comfortable and ideal for getting up close to the wildlife. We saw several large harbour seals which came right up to the boat, sea otters, bald eagles and some deer and apparently we just missed a bear! No whales but we saw lots! My family and I had a wonderful time with Gary. We saw humpback whales, otters, sea lion, bald eagles and their nest. Gary was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and Baranof Island. It is an experience that we will never forget! Thank you Captain Gary!

Going out with Gary on a whale trip is like going out with a friend who wants to show you his favorite thing in the whole world. The Sitka whales are beyond incredible, and his joy in revealing them to you is infectious. His trip was the best wildlife viewing tour we have ever taken. We're going to try to post a few of our photos elsewhere on the page, just to give you an idea ...

My mom and I were lucky enough to book a whale watching trip with Gary. He knew right where to go to find whales and he also showed us a raft of probably 50 otters and a beautiful waterfall once we had seen quite a few whales. We were even lucky enough to see a whale breach about 20 ft from our boat and he actually had to put out boat in reverse. It was an incredible experience we won't forget. We were glad we decided to spend our day in Sitka whale watching.
