About a year ago I had the pleasure of going on a wildlife boat tour with Captain Gary. We had a couple days in Sitka before heading out on a wildlife geared cruise. Let me tell you, Captain Gary did NOT disappoint. Captain Gary was accommodating enough to squeeze us in last minute and I cannot thank him enough. Gary was great! He sent us information quickly and spent a good amount of time on the phone with us answering all our questions. He was honest and said if weather was bad, he'd give us a full refund. He met us at the marina, loaded our party of six onto his boat and took us for an awesome tour. We were lucky to see many whales right in the bay, then again coming an going from the small island preserve he took us to see. Gary is an excellent captain and great fun to be around. We did a private 2.5hr tour on 7/16 and had a great time. Lots of wildlife and good conversation. We will for sure do this again next time we visit Sitka.

Our outing with Gary was absolutely fantastic! Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and we saw SO MUCH wildlife! A highlight certainly was the sight of whales, however we saw many other animals and I swear he got just as excited as we did at the sight of them! An added bonus is getting to sail with his first mate, Niko . . . his adorable dog. I highly recommend booking an excursion with Gary if you happen to get to Sitka. You won't be disappointed!!

Gary is very knowledgeable about Sitka and the species of animals there. We seen several whales, otters, and bald eagles on our tour. We had so much fun and by far exceeded our expectations.

He's forgotten more about the Sitka and Alaskan terrain, sea environment and lore than all his competitors combined. He truly knows the region and where Sitka's and the St Lazaria Island's treasures are buried. He offers the best value around for the 1, 1/2 day or 2 hour eco-tour adventure excursion - period. Fun, Knowledgeable and Entertaining Tour Guides. I went on both the Boat and Van tour that they offer and both Gary and Koali were wonderful. Gary knows just where to take you on the water, we saw Whales feeding on Herring, Sealions playing and even some good Whale Tail action! and Koali is so sweet and knowledgeable of the local area. Her sweet daughter Genevieve came along on the ride with us to it was a Blast!
