They couldn't give me an exact diagnosis simply based on the symptoms but they suspected it was the battery. Unfortunately, it was a much more complicated problem and in my case the phone wasn't able to be fixed, but I appreciated them letting me know that rather than charging me to try various fixes. In fact, because they couldn't fix it they didn't charge me at all!
