Read through the book in the recommended time frame and got to the practice test, which I bombed. Practice tests didn't match with the text on some questions. Some questions had glitches where answer choices were the question repeated. The text is very unorganized and hard to follow. Lastly, the most embarrassing part is the overwhelming amount of typos and unclear wording in the text. EXTREMELY frustrating way to study.

CPMI is horrible...do not order any courses! They do not explain content properly and the material is filled with typo's, grammatical errors, and you will be very upset. DO NOT USE CPMI!

Questions on practice tests have answers which are conflicting with information read in self-study material. After repeated emails sent for purpose of attempting to get clarification, I've decided Kaplan Financial is a more prudent option. I received all of my other licensing through them and had no issues. My advice to this company is "review your own materials vs tests and make necessary corrections" and answer your customers when they send email correspondence attempting to better understand your conflicting information.

Laurie, we appreciate your concern about sensitive information. The Illinois Dept of Insurance requires the name and social security number for submission of completion of the pre-licensing requirement. That information is entered into an online form that only the individual student and CPMI’s submission personnel can access.

Thanks for the feedback, Otilia! The Illinois pre-licensing requirement is 20 hours per line of insurance of which 7 ½ hours must be completed in the classroom. When students have completed both the classroom and the self study requirement we issue them a Certificate of Course Completion. Our students have an excellent pass rate on the state licensing exam.
