Check in was smooth. Room was SO hot the first night and I asked for help so I could sleep. No help that night, but I noticed the next night it was cooler in there. Like thermostat was adjusted to be able to go lower than it originally could. Location was perfect for everywhere I needed to go. Loved the rooftop vibe. Room was decent size for one person.
Overall, we had a very good experience at Courtyard by Marriott Washington Downtown/Convention Center. The hotel is modern, clean, and conveniently located, with a pleasant atmosphere. However, there were two significant disappointments. First, parking is not complimentary, even for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members, which was frustrating. When I arrived in the hotel, the hotel charged me for the booking fee once again because they thought I didn’t pay online. Then they found that this is a mistake, telling me they will refund this money. After I left, they charged another amount of money for no reason.
Although I am not staying here I came by because the “4 star” hotel across the street doesn’t have a sundry shop. The gentlemen at the register was very polite and the interior appeared very clean.
Pros: this hotel is across the street from the convention center. Cons: the service is really bad, the water pressure is extremely low, and the mattresses are so worn you will need a pillow barrier on the edge of the bed so you dont roll out. I was here for a convention and was tasked with packing up a large amount of vendor booth props on the last day, so I needed to come back after the that and shower and change for my flight.
