Mildew in the bathtub in a few spots and two out of three elevators not working. The front desk couldn’t have cared less. I wasn’t compensated except given Marriott points. That doesn’t fix anything because I won’t be staying at Marriott again.
Upon checking in at approximately 7 pm, my room had an odor. I called the front desk and asked for another room. They quickly obliged and sent someone up with a new room key. I moved several doors down and the smell was even worse! The air conditioner is all duct work in the ceiling. When the air kicked on I quickly realized it was coming in from the vent. Disgusting. I am reading a lot of positive reviews, so I am led to believe that this is just the fault of whomever was supposed to clean the room before us. We paid a premium for New Year’s eve in the only executive suite at this hotel. I use the term “executive suite“ lightly, as it was anything but. The walls were dirty, the sheets had god knows what on them, crusty stains on all furniture and walls, for goodness sake a freaking ceiling tile was caved in and WE had to fix it the best way we could. My husband and I were in Elmhurst for the birth of our grandson. Our intentions were to stay at their house, but at the last minute, we had to find a hotel close to the hospital. It was during rush hour on a Friday night, so it was very hard to get around and find a decent hotel, especially after being awake for almost 20 hours straight.
