Due to new ownership, the hotel was not running the way it should have been. One day the breakfast bar was closed. , always out of something, also due to the pga tour in town. They could not handle the demands of the group. The workers did the best with what they had. But changing vendors on the biggest weekend so close to hotel was a big mistake. If you’re doing major renovations, I don’t think the hotel should be open to guests. That was my experience. My first room was not cleaned properly. There was dust everywhere, I found small roaches in the room, and the shower had a brown residue on it. When I asked the night shift clerk if I could be moved to another room, they had a rude attitude, which made the situation even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t much better. This hotel is a great choice in Griffin! If you're in town for an event or just traveling through the Griffin/Atlanta area, this is the perfect home base. It’s only a short drive to the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the rooms are quiet. They are currently undergoing renovations to make the property even better, yet they still manage to keep the corridors and hallways absolutely spotless.
