About this business

The Old Town Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant embodies the definition cosmopolitan, but we've taken it a step further and included the span of history and time in our offerings. Our goal at the Cosmo is to artfully combine the past with the present, melding the modern palate with historical foods of 1870s San Diego. Our menu promises a journey through time creating modern dishes from historic ingredients. Al fresco dining is de rigueur at the Cosmo, but indoor service is available in the Sala. We joined our daughters who were here from Vegas and stayed in room 4/5; we stayed in room 2 and are from Escondido. My daughter from Utah came in for day visits on Friday and Saturday. No ghost activity, but the rooms were amazingly decorated, clean & comfortable!! It was also the perfect location to take the trolley to Petco Park, Gaslamp and Little Italy. We are already looking at a return visit!!!

Extraordinary staff, truly care about the guests and are extremely helpful. Building and grounds are stunning (don'tlook to closely.) Rooms are gorgeous but not comfortable/functional more than a couple of nights. Old Town is fun for a day but huge tourist trap with homeless people lurking.

We stay at the Cosmopolitan when we are in the San Diego area since it’s easy to get anywhere in the county from there and it’s a refreshing change from the usual hotel fare. Great history, comfortable rooms and interesting architecture. Try the pine tub room. It has a small sitting area and decent shower but the high light is the pine soaking tub

Really fun experience in a historic location. The service was excellent; Dee was very helpful during our stay. I would highly recommend the Cosmopolitan to anyone visiting San Diego and looking for something a little different than your typical chain hotel.

My wife and I were looking for a place to stay which felt out of the ordinary, authentic, and comfortable for the week of our wedding. We stayed 3 nights in room 4/5 and found it to be beautiful, cozy, and unique. The bed was very comfortable. We did not have any ghost experiences outside of lights flickering and turning off. Would stay again
